Description
My interpretation of the stoic angel that is seated in the marble gravestone of one Francis Haserot,located in Lakeview Cemetery, Cleveland Ohio. This life-size bronze statue of a seated angel is actually named "The Angel of Death Victorious" although its ominous name is not its most unsettling feature. Due to an effect of weathering and erosion on the bronze, the statue appears to be weeping black tears at all times. Combined with the impressive sculpting work of the piece itself, this feature attracts a number of visitors and tourists each year.
